as she, rehearses disappearance

As She, Rehearses Disappearance documents a brief performance of a dancer slowly wrapping a string onto her body. The installation merges three 16mm projections of the dancer onto two fractured screens of suspended glass, accompanied by the sound of a record repeatedly playing a short sample of notes. As a whole these components create an illusion of repetition, at odds with the installation, which slowly shifts and changes into variations of itself as the projected images (un)synchronize, and the film degrades.
